Harbor Springs, Michigan: 12+ inches of fluffy, packed snow, 20 degrees, what more could one ask for on this February weekend?
Friday consisted of early morning cardio and yoga before trekking 4.5 hours to Northern Michigan at 7am. Something about working out first thing in the morning sets the pace for my day.
Upon arriving to the condo in Harbor Springs, a refreshing 2 mile snowshoe uphill walk was first on the agenda! After that, we headed over to Boyne Highlands for some tubing…how fun is that?
Sit in tube, the guy hooks your tube to the toe-rope and you take a nice, leisurely ride up the mountain.
Perfect day for snow sports

After about 8 runs on the tubing course, it was time for drinks and munchies. We come prepared.

Dinner: Moose Jaw Junction for their infamous “Friday Night Fish Fry”
Corona Light w/ lime - refreshing
Lightly battered fish + coleslaw + steamed veggies on the side. I don’t know the last time I had “fish and chips”, I’m thinking it was in a London pub in 2004. This meal was memorable!
Enter: Saturday morning workout. Beer, fried fish and coleslaw require a good sweat session. The condo association/golf clubhouse has a nice workout facility (this picture is only part of it). 30 minutes elliptical, 20 minutes treadmill, triceps, abs, plus some random moves.
Breakfast: egg beater sandwich (half) topped with broccoli and a clementine. Great post-workout, healthy meal.
BIG mug of ‘bucks.
Back out for another round of snowshoeing, this time over an hour and about 3 miles in Good Hart. Good Hart has one General Store and one church. Besides homes, it’s a silent town. My first thought, where do people grocery shop? Go figure, food is always on my mind!![]()
Did you know the average calorie burn in one hour of snowshoeing for a 125lb. female is 425 calories? I worked up quite the appetite!
Turkey’s Cafe. Downtown Harbor Springs.
Mushroom & Tomato mini pizza.
I inhaled every last bite.
Taking a break now, relaxing by the fire, watching some Olympic action of skiing and speed skating! I’m really into the Olympics this year. What is your favorite sport to watch in the Olympics?

I am so jealous of you! It looks like you are having so much fun girl! I love the summer Olympics... I'm going to try to watch some of the winter though :)
I love tubing!!
I enjoy watching ice skaing and skiing. They make it look so easy!
Corona Light is one of my favorite beers! And that pizza looks so cheesy and yummy. I don't watch much Olympics, but if I do it's definitely figure skating!
