Once again, I am a few days behind on updates here! I’ve been lax, what can I say?
This morning I ran the Super Bowl 5K sponsored by Running Fit, Novi, Michigan.
I typically don’t eat a lot before a run or workout. Besides that, I ate an abundance of Arabic food and cake last night, to hold me over.
My breakfast this morning consisted of half of a mini whole wheat bagel with real PB and half of a banana.

Over 1,167 runners arrived to bear the 20 degree frigidness and get a good Super Bowl Sunday morning run in.
I ran with my friends Anton and Amy! It was Amy’s first 5K and she did an AMAZING job!
All finishers received a t-shirt and pint glass! One of the best race gifts ever.
Now it’s time to shower, eat and drink!
Oh wait…this is a glimpse of the…
Past 3 Days…
- I made my first Green Monster. I cheated a little by using Green Goodness as the base (rather than milk).
- 1/2C Green Goodness
- 3 oz Greek Yogurt, plain 0% fat
- handful of fresh spinach, large handful
- 2 spoonfuls of protein powder (no flavor)
- 1tsp chia seed
- ice
- Visit to Plum Market. These were a few of my purchases. New items, never tried.

- Friday, Feb. 5th was World Nutella Day. Therefore, I made Nutella Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies.
Nutella Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup Nutella
1/2 cup light butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar (I used 1/4C sugar, and 1/4C Splenda baking)
1/2 cup light brown sugar (I used Splenda)
1/4 cup liquid Egg Beaters
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup Dark Chocolate chips
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. In a medium bowl, combine flour baking soda and salt. Set aside. In another medium bowl, place the Nutella, butter and both sugars. Using a hand mixer, cream the ingredients together, about 3 minutes. Add the egg beaters and vanilla and blend until incorporated. Stir in the dry ingredients, just until incorporated. Fold in chocolate chips.
3. Shape the cookie dough in to walnut-sized balls. Place the cookies on a heavy cookie sheet about 4 inches apart. Bake for 8 minutes. Remove the cookies from the oven. Cool the cookies on a wire rack.

you look too cute in your running gear!
Green monsters definitely don't taste how they look! They don't taste like swamp sludge haha. Awesome job on the run! I would have wimped out in that cold! :)
I just won a jar of nutella so I'm pretty sure I'll be making these cookies soon!
