Domino’s Pizza & Paczki Day EEEKKK!

Fat Tuesday is typically the day someone in the office brings in two dozen paczki, I eat two, feel sick an hour later and by noon I can’t keep my eyes open at my desk.  Believe me, I finally learned NOT to do that.  No paczki for me today.  They sure are delicious though!

COUNTDOWN TO 2010 PACZKI DAY FESTIVITIES IN HAMTRAMCK, MI

Hamtramck, Michigan, a highly Polish suburb just a dime-throw from downtown Detroit, was sure to be hoppin’ this morning.  This is an excerpt from www.hamtramck.us:

“On Tuesday, Feb. 16, the city buzzes with heady good times and gluttony galore. Hamtramck favorites, the Polish Muslims, the Keilbasa Kings, Polka Floyd and others will make the rounds at various Hamtramck venues (see schedule at http://www.downtownhamtramck.  com/news.html). Also, various Hamtramck bars and bakeries will commemorate the holiday with day-long bar crawls, giveaways, traditional Polish drinks and food, plus spirited abandon. They don't call this February fun ''the Polish St. Patrick's Day'' for nothing, folks.”

Lots of snacking.  Undocumented snacks included a cup of broccoli soup and 4 fig bars.

How pretty is this kiwi?  I thoroughly enjoy the taste of kiwifruit.  And yes, I eat the skin for extra nutrients and crunch.
