NYE Fare

Our low-key NYE celebration was the perfect way to say “see ya later 2009”!  LOTS of munchies and I did not hold back.

Chili Cheese Dip and Chili

I made:
Italian Sausage Dip
Ingredients:
  • 1lb. Italian Sausage (turkey sausage works too), ground
  • 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 bell peppers (your choice of color(s))
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 (4oz) cans chopped green chile peppers
  • 16oz sour cream (light or fat free)
  • 8oz cream cheese (light or fat free)
Directions:
1.  Brown sausage in large skillet – mid-high heat; drain and set aside.
2.  In a large bowl, mix together sausage, tomatoes, peppers, onions, chile peppers, sour cream and cream cheese.
3.  Transfer mixture to a slow cooker.  Cook on high heat for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are soft. Reduce heat and simmer.
Serve with tortilla chips.
Makes A LOT – probably about 6 cups.
